NOTE FOR CONTRIBUTORS (Notice: We have no plan to publish in this year. )
All articles should be concise and easily understandable even for readers of no special technical background. Physics of important coating phenomena should be discussed and related mathematics should preferably be seen in other reference papers.
No ordinary reviewing system is applied even to contributed research papers, but useful comments directed to their core subjects will be published together with them either in the type of communications or in the type of technical notes with signature.
The number of the articles to be published annually is extremely limited, so the priority for publication will be given to those articles which are more relevant to wet coating practice and also concerned with common aspects of many individual facts encountered in daily coating work.
One English manuscript type in the format of about 96 characters per line and single spacing should be provided. A full-length paper, which consists of an English text, an abstract of 100-150 words, each Japanese translation in the same size, references, figures, and tables, should not normally exceed 20 printed pages. A short paper (communication or technical note), which does not require an abstract, is limited to 4 printed pages. In the English format, one printed page has 46 lines and one printed line has 96 characters; The letter size is 10 points and the line interval is 12 points in the type area of 140*205 mm.
In addition to the English manuscript, Japanese authors are requested to provide one Japanese manuscript typed in the format of about 45 characters per line. This is the Japanese translation of the English version which do not include references, illustrations and tables. In the Japanese format, one printed page has 42 lines, and one printed line has 45 characters; the letter size is 9 points and the line interval is 13.5 points.
SI units should preferably be used.
References should be numbered sequentially in order of citation in the text, gathered into a list in this order at the end of the paper in the following format: [1]J.R.A.Pearson; The instability of uniform viscous flow under rollers and spreaders. J. Fluid Mech.7(1960)481. [2]B.V.Deryagin, S.M.Levi; Film Coating Theory, Focal Press, New York(1964).
One set of original illustrations and tables in a form suitable for direct reproduction should be provided. Captions should not be written on the illustrations but must be provided in a separate list. Explanatory notes should be placed in the white space of the illustrations, not in the captions. The type area of one printed page is 140 mm wide by 205 mm deep, and lettering must therefore be large to be legible after reduction of an illustration to fit. Each illustration should bear the author's name and a figure number written on the reverse side.
Fifty reprints will be provided free of charge.
